Producing over 50 millions parts per year with consistent quality is no easy task.
At GTM we know that everything we do affects quality, so everything we do must be focused on quality. If you depend on part inspection at the end of the molding process, you are already too late.
Quality focus begins with our employees, who are trained and focused on designing and running systems which produce a quality part every time, and ends with a final inspection before we close the box.
We depend on our employees and our systems to ensure that every step is planned, well-documented, and executed.
GTM is ISO 9001:2000 certified and provides a variety of equipment and measuring systems, including:
Take a stroll around our plant and you'll find something unusual - every molding machine has it's own personal computer.
We use the PCs for job tracking, machine setup, and electronic quality plans.
Our quality plans are accessible from any computer in the plant, but specifically are opened at the beginning of a job, and available at the operators fingertips.
The quality plan displays all information needed to run a job correctly - station layout, packaging,
tools needed, materials, first piece, startup, and instructions for operator, assembly, and packaging (click on main screen at left).
Click on the operater instruction screen to the right, and you'll see the screen that operators use once the job is running correctly, including a gray box in the lower right corner with a list of enhanced visual instructions.
A typical enhanced visual instruction to the left. Compared to a paper system, electronic quality plans are substantially easier to create, edit, and organize.
Any changes are automatically documented, and it only takes a second to retrieve a quality plan at the machine.
